I once knew a girl named Thankful. I always thought that name would be a terrible burden on a child. I however, would have a much harder time living up to the name "Patience."
It's true that I don't often take enough time to think about what is good in my life. There really is a lot. Here are some.
I'm thankful for my job. The new industry is fascinating, I like what I do, and these people are willing to pay me well for it.
I am thankful for my family; this last of the families I have cobbled together in my life. In spite of our daily struggles, we are lucky to have one another.
I am thankful for Piper who did the driving there and back this year. Normally I do it, because I can't stand to just sit there for three hours, but this year I was just too damn tired.
I am thankful that I got to sleep until 9 AM at my mother's, and until at least 7 AM all the rest of the days.
I am thankful that my picky eater Tigger LOVES turkey. Ok, whatever. However, he suddenly no longer likes raisins.
I am thankful that the boys' Christmas picture with Santa is a good one of both of them. I happen to know this particular Santa and I've been trying for years to get a good shot.
I am thankful that it is the Christmas season, because that is my very favorite. I'm thankful that I got some of my shopping done early, now I have to tackle those cards.
Tigger and Pumpkin's Obligatory Thankful Projects (ya know, the things they do at school):
Tigger's project reads:
I am thankful for my Mama.
I am thankful for my Daddy.
I am thankful for my dog, Henry.
Pumpkin's project reads:
I am thankful for my brother, Tigger.
That just speaks volumes, doesn't it?
