Goodness. I probably would have rolled up my program and bopped him on the head. There are places to be rude, you know, and church shouldn't be one of them.

You can retort with "Too bad they don't have meds for mean-spirited busy-bodies. We all have our crosses to bear, I guess."
Yeah, I know; I can't ever come up with stuff like that in the heat of the moment either.

I would have said, "Do you think church is the most appropriate time to bring this up? He's 3 (or whatever the age).
I see rude people, only they don't know they're rude.
