Well said. I didn't see the Obama speech, and I'm still looking for it on the Internet. I can say, however, that I was an opponent of the Taliban due to its misogynistic and cruel treatment of women there for a long, long time.

I did listen to Obama, so this doesn't come as a surprise to me, and I do support the troop increase. We broke it, we have to buy it. We had an opportunity to do really good things there but, as you say, we lost focus on Afghanistan.

They have a magnificent culture going back a thousand years or more, they should have an opportunity to regain their self- and state-hood. I support the president.
